Vice President of Development
As Vice President of Development, Scott is responsible for managing the development and fundraising functions for GCO, working with the President and Executive Vice President, along with the development staff, to develop and execute the annual development plan.
Scott is originally from Ohio, earning a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Youngstown State University. After moving to Virginia in 2008, he earned a Master’s Degree in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University and was invited to study at Oxford University.
Scott has worked for several nonprofits, including The Family Foundation and The Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Prior to his nonprofit work, Scott was heavily involved in politics, working as Special Assistant to Governor Bill Owens of Colorado, Senior Advisor to Lt. Governor Jane Norton of Colorado and as the Executive Director of the Governor’s Commission on Community Service.
In his free time, Scott takes his four children on weekend adventures to places like the annual Highland County Maple Festival in Virginia, the Cheerwine Festival in South Carolina and the Sauerkraut Festival in Ohio. In addition to spending time with his kids, Scott is an avid beekeeper.
