Katherine serves as the Operations Manager for Georgia Center for Opportunity (GCO). She works closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President and President to ensure GCO has the proper financial and operational controls, as well as administrative and reporting procedures in place to help the vitality of the organization. Prior to this role, Katherine supported the policy advancement team in their efforts with the school choice movement.
As a passionate advocate for healthy marriage and family, Katherine joined GCO in 2009 as a Program Specialist to help with the 12 community-based initiatives that work to reduce divorce and unwed childbearing. She managed relationship skill-building education classes and helped to build community partnerships throughout Georgia.
In her spare time, Katherine and her husband have a strong focus on building and strengthening marriages and families through workshops, seminars, and retreats. Her passion has given her the opportunity to speak to couples throughout the Southeast and Midwest regions of the country as well as abroad to West Africa.
She has co-authored along with her husband “The Family Goal Planning Guide and Workbook,” a holistic and vital tool to help families and individuals live their best life through setting and achieving their goals. It covers six core areas: Faith, Family, Finance, Future, Fitness, and Fun.
Katherine holds a Bachelors of Science degree with an emphasis in Speech Communications and Theatre, from Middle Tennessee State University. She also has over twenty years of customer service experience and several years of leadership and front line management experience with a Fortune 500 company.
She enjoys playing tennis and volunteering in the community. Katherine has been married for over 20 years and resides in Lilburn, Georgia with her husband Carlos and two sons, Cameron and Isaac.
