I am truly blessed to be working for a place that is so fixated on creating real and true value by uplifting the brokenhearted and hurting and working to place them on a path to better days. To know that your work goes way beyond the four walls of your office is an incredible thing!
Josiah is the Development Associate at the Georgia Center for Opportunity. In this role, he works with the rest of the development team to drive GCO’s fundraising efforts, including leading GCO’s donor communications.
Originally from sunny Southern California, Josiah graduated from Hillsdale College in May of 2016 with a degree in History and a minor in Politics. While at Hillsdale, he volunteered for a local, student-run, non-profit which instilled in him the desire to work in the non-profit sphere. Through the encouragement of a friend at that non-profit, he pursued that desire and found himself in metro Atlanta, which he’s called home since July of 2016. Josiah is also a graduate of Liberty@Work (now a part of the Koch Associate Program) at the Charles Koch Institute through which he completed courses on professional development, classical liberal ideas, and Market-Based Management.
If you run into him outside the office, you’ll find him volunteering, playing sports or guitar, reading, or listening to music (which he does any time he can). While he misses the West Coast, the scenery of Northern Georgia has its perks too!
